Boch Center’s City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program (SUMMER - PAID)

·City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program is a 6-week summer employment program that will hire up to 60 Teen Leaders, specializing in an area of the performing arts (dance, music, or acting) to use the arts for social change in their communities. ·Teen Leaders will work collaboratively to create an original educational performance to be presented at the Shubert Theatre, as well as and arts-based workshop on a social justice topic that will tour to different community sites in the city for a week during the summer. This Way Ahead (Spring & Summer – PAID)

This Way Ahead (Spring & Summer – PAID) - Last Info Session Ends on Tuesday February 19th
·This Way Ahead (TWA) is a PAID job readiness and internship program for youth age 16-24 in partnership with Gap Inc. and Boston Housing Authority. 
·Students are paid to attend job readiness workshops twice/week and eligible students then apply to work at Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic stores for the summer.  ·For students ages 16-24. Must be 16 years old by May 13, 2019.  Priority is given to those who are Boston Housing Authority residents or BHA Section 8 voucher holders.
·Beginning in March, students attend PAID interactive job readiness classes twice a week in the afternoon/evening for 16 weeks. (March 4 – May 23)
·Once they complete the job readiness classes, they can apply for paid, supported summer internships at local Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic stores, with the possibility of continuing on to permanent/seasonal employment in the fall.

GRLZ Radio (February Vacation - UNPAID) – Deadline: Friday February 14th

GRLZ Radio is excited to host another session of G.R.I.T. (GRLZ Radio Intensive Training) during February vacation program for girls ages 10-13 only! During this week-long intensive, girls will gain leadership, public speaking, teamwork, and creative writing skills, as they are trained by radio and music professionals, to host and produce their own radio shows!  At the end of this fun-filled week, girls will have completed 4-7 quality radio shows that can be enjoyed live on our website or later via Soundcloud account.
The February vacation program will run from a mandatory orientation day Monday 2/18 - Friday 2/22 – 10:00 am to 5:00 pm every day except orientation day.  The cost to attend this program is $50/ childScholarships are available on a first come, first serve basis. If you would like to a scholarship, email me for the process on how to do so. This pricing includes:

oActively discover stories of Boston communities working together to protect people and resources amid changing harbor landscape. oConsider what their role might be in the ongoing work of shaping the Boston Harbor, now and into the future.
·The fellowship consists of 5 weekend excursions from March - May. Upon completion of the program each fellow will receive a $600 honorarium award.

Check out this PAID opportunity over February vacation with the Boston Public Health Commission.  The opportunity is for 8th and 9th grade students only. PLI trains and supports high school students to become role models and leaders who promote positive behavior change in their schools and home communities. Grounded in youth development principles, the program prepares young people to be peer leaders in health promotion and public health practice.
